Ferienwohnung Bergmaier

We spent a lovely week here in August 2022. Traveling as a couple by train and hiring bikes locally both worked out smoothly, and the Bergmaier family looked after us so well. Breakfast on the terrace, with its lovely view and parasol, was a great way to start the day. The ground-floor living room and kitchen are on the small side, but that outdoor space makes a real difference. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with two beds, so the apartment works for a family of four or two couples. The bathroom is roomy and has a washing machine. We found it wonderfully relaxing from the moment we arrived, and would highly recommend booking when it’s available.

From the outset, our landlords were warm and welcoming, always reachable but never intrusive. They even asked at the end whether we had any ideas for improvements, though we couldn’t think of anything. We spent 14 lovely days in the bright, roomy apartment and especially enjoyed the broad southern view from both the large terrace and the kitchen-living area. Deer sometimes came onto the garden lawn, and we had fun watching the free-range chickens and naming them. The place is thoughtfully equipped, with a washer, drying rack, and even window screens to keep flies out. We could easily take day trips to Passau, Schärding, Regensburg, Vilshofen, and other places, or cycle straight into Bad Birnbach and around the area. A lovely spot for a relaxing holiday. The best part for us was the terrace, with its lovely view and a special feel at breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Regina and Stefan made us feel like family. They’re friendly, helpful, and always there when needed, and you can tell they want guests to feel at ease and have a memorable holiday. Downstairs there’s an entry area with a wardrobe, a bathroom with toilet, shower, bathtub, and washing machine, plus a fully equipped kitchen with brand-name appliances. It also has a small sitting area with a sofa and TV, and free Wi-Fi. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with a double bed. The beds, mattresses, and wardrobes are all high quality, and one wardrobe has a small safe. A superbly equipped place. Highly recommended!

The Bergmaier family are such friendly, helpful hosts. The apartment itself is modern, bright, spacious, and feels luxurious. We felt comfortable right away, and it was wonderfully relaxing. Bad Birnbach is only a few minutes away. Highly recommend it.
