Super!
That restaurant nearby was a real plus: the food was delicious and very reasonably priced, though it wasn’t always open. When it was closed, we had to ride the mopeds to another town, which meant giving up a beer. Breakfast was available, with fresh eggs, and the owner sometimes put on a barbecue for our group. There wasn’t another kitchen, so most evenings we ate out. We were a biker group and had booked several rooms for a week during August 2024. The owner was very friendly, if sometimes a bit pushy. Our rooms, though, were truly awful. We had a cold week, and turning up the heat didn’t do much. In my room, the outer pane of the old double-glazed window was missing. My buddy’s sink wouldn’t drain until he pulled what looked like Rapunzel out of the trap, and the shower was just as poor. It’s a shame because the hotel is in a great location, and the building has real charm, including a lovely courtyard. I hope the hotel has improved and can recover.
We couldn’t quite feel at home here, unfortunately. It was fine for one night, and breakfast was okay. The setting is very quiet, but the rooms and everything around them feel quite dated. In the bathroom, the radiator wasn’t properly secured, and there was barely any warmth.
The owner was super friendly and even arranged a delicious barbecue for us. Highly recommended, and you don’t have to be a biker to enjoy it.
