Hotel Fontana

I checked in at 3 pm, went out, and returned around 7 to a really cold room. I turned the heater way up, but after 15 minutes I was still freezing. The heater was cold over most of its surface, with only one small section warm. I called reception and the mobile number, but nobody answered. I guessed they had gone out to eat and waited by the part of the heater that worked. After an hour there was still no answer or email response. The room stayed freezing, and I was getting tired. Nearly three hours later I found out they’d been in their room the whole time. By then I was losing patience and just wanted to sleep. They finally opened the door and moved me to another room, but it was tiny, just enough for a 90x200 cm bed. It was around 17 or 18 degrees, warmer than the first room, but I slept in my jacket. I got sick the next day and stayed in bed for three days. This was the worst accommodation I’ve had on all my business trips. Never again, and I wouldn’t recommend this place in winter.

I spent one night in a single room and have no complaints. It was clean, and the owner was friendly and capable, even late at night. This is a small, cozy hotel, not especially modern, but it’s furnished with care and those little touches make it feel comfortable and homey. It had everything I expect from a good hotel. If I need a room here again for work or leisure, I’d happily come back.

The room was simple, clean, and just right for two nights without any fuss. The location worked perfectly for what I needed, on the right side of Breisig. This hotel has a particular charm, and I appreciated it. The owner suits the place so well, in her own charming way, it’s as if the hotel found her. Breakfast was excellent and so plentiful I didn’t need to eat again until dinner. If you want something simple but with its own character, you’ll be very happy here. I’ll definitely return.

The rooms are a little dated, but clean and everything works. We had trouble finding the place because the house number didn’t match, but the owner explained it clearly and was kind and helpful with our questions. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and there was lots of it, a real treat. The hotel is a bit out of the way, though fine for a weekend. We’d book again if needed.
