Hotel Jägerhof

The room was very nice, and the price was cheap.

Great service, really.

The town is only a few minutes away by car, though I didn't find it especially worth visiting. A lot of shops along the main tourist street by the famous fountain were closed, although some good restaurants were open. The spa gardens, on the other hand, were beautiful and just a five-minute walk away. The guest card was a real plus too, with benefits including free mini golf and entry to various attractions. We had a room in the last of the hotel's several annexes, where there's a small pool and sauna. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the heating worked fine. If you use the pool, bring your own slippers and bathrobe; towels are available there, but those extras aren't provided. In the room we had soap, a hairdryer, and water glasses, but no kettle. We were an hour early and very grateful that our room was already ready. The hotel sits in a lovely garden with plenty of loungers, tables, and chairs for relaxing outdoors. The downside was that many guests had dogs, and they left mess on the green areas. While playing with our son, our ball landed right in a large pile. Breakfast was fine, but I think it should run until 10 a.m., at least on Sundays. It currently ends at 9:30, starting at 7:30, which may suit older group travelers. We were there after 9 a few times and found no eggs left. Only on the first morning did anyone ask if we wanted an omelet. I wouldn't recommend the Indian restaurant. The staff were very unfriendly, and the indoor tables are too close together. The Italian restaurant up the hill above the fountain was much better, with a lovely view, excellent food, and friendly service.

A peaceful place to stay, with kind, friendly, and helpful staff. The hotel has several annexes and great rooms, nearly all with balconies looking over the beautiful private park. It's quiet and very nice, and I'd certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a calm stay.
