We stayed in room 10, which is rented through Meer and F.U.N. I believe the rooms are individually furnished and owned by different companies. Ours was modern and impeccably maintained, and our children, who are under 18, slept comfortably on the sofa. The apartment had most of the furniture and cutlery we needed, and the location was fantastic, about 10 minutes on foot from the beach and 6 from the Grand Hotel. It's a great area. The IKM sheet may not suit everyone, but it didn't make us sweat. We did have to buy dishwasher tablets separately, and the knives were blunt. There was no dishcloth, kitchen towel, clothes rack, clothespins, hand soap, or bathroom hand towel. We arrived in a downpour, got completely soaked, and had nowhere to dry our clothes. 😏

We had a weekly pass for the Molli steam train, which made it easy to visit Bad Doberan and Kühlungsborn. Heiligendamm itself is beautiful, and apartment 15 was clean, fully equipped, and very quiet at the back of the building. We enjoyed sunny breakfasts on the balcony, and there's a bicycle storage room in the complex. All three restaurants in Heiligendamm, except the hotel restaurant, are highly recommendable. A perfect spot for a lovely few days by the Baltic Sea.

Apartment no. 3 had everything we needed, even a vacuum cleaner, and was just right for our family of four. The service was very friendly, and it's a great place to relax, walk, or bike. We plan to come back next year.

If what you want is real peace and quiet, Heiligendamm is the place. There's basically nothing going on in town, probably because of the Grand Hotel. No shops or bakery, and you have to hunt around for restaurants and cafes and hope they're open. The well-kept house and very nice apartment were a good base for our Easter stay. The Grand Hotel, site of the 2007 G8 summit, looms over Heiligendamm. Much of the promenade and the area by the beach are hotel property and closed to non-guests, so reaching the shore means taking a detour. In summer, that could mean a lot of walking and carrying things, unless you use the paid beach parking lot.
