Hotel Und Appartementhof Waldeck

Great service.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. This privately run hotel is right next to the Europa Therme spa. The restaurant’s coffee and cake were excellent, and dinner was superb too. Highly recommended!

The rooms look dated and need attention. The toilets smelled of urine, some tiles were coming loose, and the place felt more retro than well maintained. Breakfast was another letdown: arriving later meant items such as cucumbers weren’t restocked, even though service still had an hour to run. When we asked, we got eye rolls and sighs but no more food. One of the three families who booked and arrived together was also denied a discount, and the explanation changed several times during the conversation. We’d specifically asked for a room without pests because we’d had bedbugs on our last stay. This time there were no bedbugs, but the room was full of ladybugs. Our children were afraid to sleep there and didn’t find it idyllic. We politely asked for them to be removed; a few were collected, while the rest were apparently left as seasonal decoration. Breakfast seemed to follow a “arrive late and you’re out of luck” rule. We honestly can’t understand the many positive reviews. We’ve had more than enough and certainly won’t return.
