Parkhotel Bad Füssing

The interior was lovely, and the place itself was beautiful.

It was okay.

The spa and wellness area was spotless and beautifully looked after, with outdoor loungers in both sunny and shady spots. The hotel itself has lovely decor and lots of thoughtful details, and the Tuscan-style lobby made quite an impression on us. We especially liked being close to the spa park, plus there was plenty of parking and a storage room for our bikes. Our studio was spacious, split into a living area and a bedroom, with two TVs. It also had a separate toilet, a big bathroom with a walk-in shower, a walk-in closet, and a large balcony with two sun loungers. Breakfast was excellent and generous. We also had half-board, which included a five-course dinner with a good choice of dishes. Everything tasted great and was carefully prepared. The staff, from reception and the restaurant to housekeeping and maintenance, were all friendly, attentive, and courteous. We felt very comfortable here and would happily recommend the hotel.

The food and service were the standouts for us. We stayed 14 days, so we had plenty of time to see how consistently friendly the staff were at breakfast and dinner. They even noticed when we wanted a pause between courses and checked with us. The cuisine was outstanding, with a fantastic choice and preparation that beat other Bad Füssing hotels we've tried, including pricier, better-known places. Most guests only stay 3-5 nights, which seems a shame. Half-board is also very reasonably priced. Our room was bright and fairly large, and the basic category would have been enough. We chose a slightly higher category instead, and room service was impeccable. The spa area felt too small for us. The thermal pool was pleasant at 36 degrees Celsius, but the swimming pool was too shallow for taller people to swim in. The outdoor pool also seemed small compared with those at many other hotels, wasn't heated, and couldn't be used in winter. The saunas were lovely, as were the steam room and salt cave, though the salt cave had only four heated loungers. There was also a large, pleasant lounge with a bar for the evening, and the prices there were fair.
