Parkhotel Bad Griesbach

Great!

It was fine.

We had a really lovely weekend at the Parkhotel in January 2026. The thermal baths and wellness area looked attractive and were well cared for, and neither felt too busy. Our two renovated rooms were clean and stylish, with cozy furnishings, a sitting area, and plenty of space. The bathroom was a little small, though fine for two, and the beds were comfortable. Extra pillows were available on request. The hotel is a pleasant size and well-appointed, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Breakfast was excellent, and we enjoyed dinner too. The value for money was good. We’d happily recommend a stay here.

We really enjoyed our five days at the Parkhotel. A special offer week made it affordable for us: we paid €1265 for half-board and a premium room. The rooms available to guests were consistently clean and well maintained, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. From 1 p.m., the patisserie served fresh cakes. They cost extra, but were a real treat. The thermal spa has three saunas: a Finnish sauna at about 90°C, a sanarium around 50-60°C, and a steam room. There are plenty of hot and cold showers and an ice plunge pool. The indoor pool, filled with 36°C thermal water from the Karlsquelle spring, is lovely and warm for relaxing. There’s also another indoor whirlpool. Aqua aerobics, aqua dance, or aqua fitness runs there daily except Sundays. The wider sports program suits all fitness levels and includes Zumba, walking, Nordic walking, street walking, circuit training, stretching, and more. The Technogym fitness area is well equipped with weights and cardio machines, including an indoor cycling bike, cross trainer, treadmill, stationary bike, and rowing machine. A few things could be better. The outdoor pool is a good size for swimming and sits at about 28°C, but feels too cold for relaxing, so a few degrees more would be welcome. The outdoor whirlpool is usually busy and often crowded. The loungers have cushions that are too thin, and our backs began to hurt after a short while. The separate relaxation room has comfortable daybeds for two, though people should keep conversation to a minimum there. One large sauna towel is provided each day. You can rent another for €2 per day, but we didn’t want to spend an additional €20 over the stay, so we used the bath towels supplied in the room. I think each spa visitor should have two towels available per day.
