The restaurant is a nice, typical German one, though the hotel itself is old and expensive.

The hotel management was really nice. Historical sculptures decorate the place, and the views are amazing.

The rooms are impressively large. There was room for a crib and a big stroller, with space left to move around, and the bathroom was almost comically huge. Breakfast was very good, with cheese and cold cuts, jams, and fresh eggs, far more than we'd usually prepare at home. Coffee and tea were brought fresh to the table, and the staff were friendly. Dinner was on the expensive side, but the half roast duck was superb and better value than the good venison roast pieces. We didn't regret eating there. A few interior details showed wear, like loose baseboards and cracked grout, about all I can complain about. Overall, good.

The food is still very good, as always. But with the new staff, both the atmosphere and service have gone downhill dramatically. It used to feel like sitting comfortably in your own living room. This time we felt like intruders, and nobody asked whether we were finished until about ten minutes had passed. Such a shame, this is how a good place gets ruined.
