Landhotel Schönblick

This small, family-owned hotel in the northern Black Forest is too sweet for words. We felt welcome at any time, and the staff were incredibly friendly and ready to help. The continental breakfast was delicious, with lots to choose from. Dogs are allowed, and if they’re well behaved, they can even come into the restaurant. The current owners bought the hotel recently, in January 2023, and are gradually refurbishing the old house with a more modern touch. You can see the updates in the flat-screen TVs, outside security locks, restaurant and room furniture, and the new fans and hairdryers they put in during our stay. Major renovations are scheduled for next year, and we look forward to returning to see what’s changed. It’s a super quiet, peaceful area, ideal for hiking, relaxing, and enjoying nature. Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, and Pforzheim are not far away and easy to reach by car. The area is also lovely to explore by motorcycle. Prices are very reasonable. The bathrooms were clean and the shower head had a rain function. Our room was a bit hot in summer and there was no air conditioning, but we managed to sleep with the windows open. The balcony could have used an umbrella, though next time we’ll ask for one. To be honest, we spent most of our time outside, so it wasn’t really needed. The hotel offers lunch and dinner buffets as well as breakfast, but we didn’t try the lunch or dinner, so can’t review them. Parking spaces are right in front of the hotel. The food was varied and absolutely delicious every day, and all the staff were consistently friendly and attentive. I spent six days at the Landhotel Schönblick and felt comfortable from the moment I arrived. The welcome was very warm, and I could ask the owners anything. It’s clear that the Deuscher family runs the hotel with real passion and dedication. I’d definitely return and highly recommend it.
