Schwarzwald Panorama

We really came for the view, and it didn't disappoint. The location is stunning, the people and service were lovely, and the stay itself was good value for money. The restaurant prices, though, were rather exorbitant and were one reason I gave four stars. Wi-Fi was the other issue. It was slow when connected, and we kept losing the connection as we moved around the apartment. The TV also had no Chromecast or similar device. Given the unreliable Wi-Fi, that might not have worked well anyway, but it was still missing. I'd definitely recommend the place for its views.

The room was nice, but a large rip or hole in one of the net curtains stood out. The view wasn't inspiring, and I didn't feel comfortable using the balcony: people waiting for the elevator could see it from a window, and other guests looked over from their rooms in the mornings and late afternoons. I also had to close the drapes before walking around nude. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was nice. I couldn't eat the Alkaline Fasting breakfast porridge, though. It tasted odd, and I wondered if it had been cooked properly.

The indoor pool was too cold, and changing that would make the hotel awesome. Otherwise, I had a very good dinner on the first day, the breakfast was excellent, and parking was good. The staff were friendly, and the location was quiet.

The kids loved the swimming pool, hot tub, and chairs around the pool, and my wife and I enjoyed the room and restaurant. At dinner, we joked about the smiles on the two people at the next table when they saw our youngest child's face as her fixed menu arrived. She ended up enjoying the meal. We'd just reached the end of our euro-trip and were pretty tired, so we weren't the easiest crowd to please. Even so, we enjoyed the whole stay at hotel Panorama Schwarzwald. The owner has a wonderful staff, so kind and helpful. The room had no air conditioning. We could open the windows, but there was nothing to keep flies, wasps, or mosquitoes out. If we could have aired out the room without attracting those bugs, it would've been a five star stay. Call it a 4.9 ;-). We'll be back, auf wiedersehen!
