Alpenhotel Sonneck

We loved having breakfast outside on our last morning. The buffet was very good, and they can provide gluten-free bread and cake if you order ahead. From the hotel there’s great hiking, and the lift pass is free. We had an upstairs room with a balcony, fridge, Nespresso machine and capsules, plus a big bathroom with a little bench for putting things on. The only thing missing was milk for coffee, but we asked and got a small jug. The views from the rooms are amazing, and the staff were helpful, attentive and spot on. Thank you, Tina! Strongly recommended. I hope they have enough staff to reopen the restaurant for dinner one day.

Breakfast the next morning was a treat, with plenty of choice and good service. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, and the beds were very good. From the balcony, we had a stunning view of the village and the spectacular surrounding landscape. We’d had a hard time finding somewhere to sleep after arriving in Bad Hindelang, since every guesthouse or hotel seemed either closed or booked. After walking up the very steep Rosengasse in Bad Hindelang, we came across hotel Sonneck and its last available room, at € 173,-. It seemed like a lot at first, but it turned out to be worth every penny. In my opinion, €173,- was very well spent.

The room was a little small for my taste, but it was very clean and the service was faultless. The view is superb, and the air feels the freshest in the world. I recommend it.
