The breakfast was just adequate. I arrived at 10 p.m. after getting confirmation that a late arrival was okay, but nobody was in the building. A very nice woman who lives there helped me, otherwise I'd still have been at the front desk trying to find my keys. The owner forgot to apologize the next day, but charged me the full price. I think that was my last night there.

I stayed for 14 days in late fall 2017, and the family running this warm, comfortable hotel did a lot to accommodate my needs, even though some of the services I needed weren't included in their booking. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help me, despite my not speaking German. The room looked out on bucolic scenery that was especially picture postcard-like in the fall. The restaurant seems popular with the nearby community. It modestly describes its food as simple, but the chef serves hearty, healthy local dishes that warm the soul. There's also a fantastic pub with a rustic, old style feel. With the food and hospitality, this place deserves its official 3 stars.

I stopped here for coffee during a motorcycle tour. The terrace has an amazing view, the coffee is good quality, and service was quick and friendly. It has a traditional German romantic feel.

It's a cozy place with its own character. I wouldn't change anything, though it's simply not what I'm used to.
