The team's kindness and service at Pension Carmen were outstanding. They communicated clearly, went out of their way to help, and shared useful tips for the area. They made me feel very welcome, which matters a lot to me when I travel. I'd definitely return. My themed room was nicely arranged, spacious and comfortable, with a little balcony overlooking green space. It was also very clean. A few things weren't as convenient: the mattress and pillows weren't particularly good, the bathroom sink drained poorly, and sound carried through the house, so I held back from playing music or chatting on the phone. Pension Carmen is still easy to recommend for a short stay in Bad Hönningen. The train station, shops, restaurants, castle, and town centre are all within walking distance.

My husband and I spent a few days here in July 2025. We had a large room with a balcony, fridge, and comfortable chairs. Breakfast was the "typical German" kind, well stocked and served in a charming room. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's a small self-service bar in the guesthouse, and plenty of bakeries, pubs, restaurants, and supermarkets nearby. Schloss Arenfels is a 25-minute walk away.

The room was fantastic, and the breakfast and service were excellent. I stayed just one night while hiking the Rheinsteig and was genuinely sorry not to have longer. It's a little way off the trail, but well worth it.
