Tzvika C.
It’s a quiet, affordable and simple place away from city noise, close to the park. The receptionist was nice, and breakfast was good. There’s a kettle in the room and a small fan, which is better than nothing. But there was no AC, the bathroom was outside the room, and the Wi-Fi was bad. If you want somewhere peaceful and don’t mind a simple setup, this is a good option.

The place was clean, well maintained and well managed. The staff were very good and helpful too.

After a busy workday, coming back to the hotel in the evening was relaxing. It’s surrounded by the greenery of Kurpark, with birdsong, butterflies and flowers. There’s plenty of parking, the rooms are clean, and the staff are kind. Some of them also speak Italian. A few downsides: my room had no bidet, the pillows were very uncomfortable, and the carpet felt way too vintage.

My family friends had said good things about the place, but the food was bad and the atmosphere felt depressing even in summer. The rooms were filthy. The outside isn’t the nicest compared with other hotels, either. I went in with my children, and the person I assume was the manager kept staring at them. There was no place for my 1987 Ford Mustang. I understand Europeans being satisfied with smaller cars, but my son’s Chevy Impala couldn’t fit in their pathetic excuses for parking spaces.

IMPORTANT EDIT: The hotel has now threatened me with legal action if I don’t take this review down. Take that as proof that the owners can’t take criticism and will try to pressure unhappy guests into removing reviews with empty threats. This has to be one of the worst hotels in Bad Homburg. Take your business somewhere else, for example Parkhotel Bad Homburg, which has better service and higher quality rooms, views and location. Here, the staff try to nickel and dime you at every turn. A bottle of water costs 5€ in the hot summer, and it’s conveniently placed in the room. They may try to charge your credit card hours before you arrive, even if you ask to pay later, at the end of your stay. Need to cancel on the day of your reservation? You’ll pay 80% of the original booking fee. Both Co-Owners are cocky, disrespectful and unpleasant to deal with. Another guest asked at reception whether the hotel had air conditioning, which it doesn’t. Instead of a friendly no, they were pompously told to take their business to a 5-star hotel because the hotel doesn’t offer such luxuries. Villa Kisseleff, right next door, is owned by the same people, and I have no doubt its service and quality will be just as poor. The exterior looks good, but the hallways and rooms are worn down, and the rooms are cramped. I also noticed a constant burning smell while I was there. I strongly advise against booking a top-floor room because of the lack of air conditioning. Don’t give this hotel your money. There are better places that value their customers more than this disgrace of an establishment.
