Oscars Hotel 1415

We wanted to watch sports, but there wasn't a TV in the restaurant. The staff brought one over and set it on a table just for us. That's service you don't come across every day. The food was very good too.

The view was amazing, and there’s a little river beside the hotel. The room was spacious and the location worked perfectly for us. Kids can also reach a playground nearby. The German food was the best I've tried, really delicious, and the beef tartare especially surprised me with its flavor. I'd recommend this place for a holiday in the forest.

The breakfast was the one bright spot, it was very nice. Otherwise, our stay at Oscars 1415 Hotel was awful. Noise came straight through the walls from the hallway, and loud guests made it hard to get a good night's sleep. In the morning, the cleaning lady tried to come into our room without knocking. When we raised complaints, the receptionist was cold and nearly unfriendly. The hotel seemed badly managed, and I wouldn't stay here again.

This hotel has more than 600 years of history and sits in a great spot near the park. You can walk to the swimming pool, and the Baumwipfelpfad of Schwarzwald is a 20-minute drive away. There's a beer garden next door, and strolling through the park in the morning was so relaxing. Service was thoughtful, attentive, and professional. Our room was large, tidy, and clean, with elegant decor and all the facilities we needed. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and dinner was superb, beautifully presented and creative. It was the best German meal I've had. The spa treatment deserves a thumbs up too. The gentle, relaxing techniques nearly put me to sleep.
