The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and it’s a great place if you’re travelling with a pet. The Thermes are only a five-minute walk away, and it’s good value. Breakfast is basic but fresh and tasty. A kettle in the room would be handy.

The rooms were neat and the facilities were okay, but the hotel is a long way from town and I wasn’t impressed by breakfast. The corridor between the two buildings felt a bit like a haunted house. The receptionists really stood out. They spoke English well and were supportive. One woman at reception also knew a little Hindi and helped me a lot with arranging a taxi and talking with the driver. Sadly, I didn’t get to thank her properly before leaving Bad merghentheim.

I love staying here. The reception does its best whenever I have an unusual arrival time, and parking is easy. The hotel is huge, but it feels like home. My room is quiet and spacious, the bed is good for my back, and the Wi-Fi is fast and uninterrupted. In winter it’s wonderfully warm. On weekdays I especially enjoy the buffet breakfast, with as much of the cheese and ham I like as I want, plus coffee.

At night the hotel feels almost deserted, apart from guests coming and going in the halls, and it can feel like a haunted house. Service is very limited after 6pm, when there are no staff working, and the elevators stop running too. The notice by the elevators says they stop after midnight for security and start again after 6am. Staff told us they actually shut down earlier because there aren’t enough people working. If you have a disability, be sure to return before 6pm, or you’ll have to take the stairs.

The bedrooms were large and had nice views. I stayed one night while travelling for work, and the breakfast was very good.
