The owners were friendly, and the food was good, with dishes presented nicely. I think they could be a little more creative with the plating to make it stand out. The dining room has a stylish, cozy modern feel. The menu is in the local Cologne dialect, and the wine list was fine, though I’d have liked a few more interesting options. We’re looking forward to coming back.

We’re lucky to live close to Aachen, because we’ll definitely return. It’s a small restaurant with a fantastic menu. The venison sausages with sauerkraut and fried potatoes were spot on, and the goulash soup was rich, full of flavor, and incredibly good.

The classic regional food is traditional German cooking at reasonable prices, and the menu was delicious. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. Just beyond the Niedertor gate in Ahrweiler's old town, Zum Ännchen is set in a beautifully renovated half-timbered building, which makes it feel especially cozy and charming. A wonderful new place in Ahrweiler, highly recommended.

We decided on dinner at the last minute yesterday and still got a table for four, even though they had lots of reservations. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, and the food was amazing. We’ll definitely return. Such a good restaurant.
