What a lucky find. We came across the hotel by chance, and it sits right beside a beautiful mountain lake. Our room was amazing: a cancellation made it available, and the owner let us choose it. I think all the rooms are nice, but this one was especially beautiful, on the top floor with a flower-covered balcony looking out over the lake. Rhod is family-run, and everyone there was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was an amazing buffet, with nice German baked goods available during the day. Drinks were available anytime on an honor system: we added what we took to our room and paid at checkout. There was a path all the way around the lake, great for a morning run, and the lake was lovely for swimming. We had an amazing stay and will definitely return if we get the chance.

We had a fantastic week at this welcoming, family-run guesthouse and would happily return. The outdoor area is beautifully kept, the rooms are clean and cozy, and the hosts make you feel at home. Breakfast was generous, too. It’s a lovely base for exploring nature and the surrounding area. Autumn was especially nice for hiking, with the first fall colors and cooler air making the walks feel even more pleasant and romantic. The winter packages sound tempting as well.
