The spa area felt magical after a day exploring the Harz. Winding down in the warm pool or sauna was just what we needed. The staff were kind, attentive, and caring, and made us feel looked after rather than simply like guests. We spent a few lovely days at Göbel’s Vital Hotel Bad Sachsa and are leaving grateful and inspired, with a real sense of peace. The hotel is surrounded by greenery and quiet, with the Harz’s mountains, cobbled streets, and autumn colors all around. Our spacious, cozy room was warm, and its view of the old town rooftops, golden forest, and morning light through the trees never got old. Breakfast felt like a little celebration each morning, with fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, fish, cheese, champagne, coffee, and the staff’s lovely smiles. We’d return for the warmth, good food, and harmony of the place.

I was really looking forward to visiting, so the service and reception staff left me extremely disappointed. We were enjoying the spa and ended up late for dinner. Just a few minutes after 9 pm, it was impossible to get even a snack or sandwich from the hotel bar. Every other place in town was closed, so we went to bed without dinner. The reception staff showed no understanding.

Breakfast was really good, and the indoor and outdoor pools were nice. The hotel’s in a good spot, with a great backyard and walking and hiking routes starting right there. The beds were a bit hard, though.

Everything else was very positive. The only thing we missed was a way to make tea in the room. There was only a Nespresso machine, and my wife doesn’t drink coffee.

Even with the hotel fully booked, we had a great stay. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the amenities felt thoughtfully set up for comfort. We did have to park quite far away, though they were preparing a new parking area that should let more guests park closer. Breakfast and dinner buffets were great, and they took dietary requests into account attentively. We were mistakenly charged for some drinks we hadn’t ordered, but they corrected it straight away when we pointed it out. I probably wouldn’t recommend the massage services, as both massages I had felt a little unusual, though that may have been down to an individual and not the Göbel brand. Thanks for having us!
