The room was clean, which was the only good part of our New Year's Eve stay. Everything else was a hard no. We booked at short notice, but the self-check-in instructions promised for 24 hours before arrival never came, so we had to call. At the restaurant, the waitress was unfriendly and said we shouldn't enter by the main door because that would disturb the guests. We had to walk around the building via the parking lot. The room note said extra bedding was in the wardrobe, but it was empty, and no one answered the contact number. Breakfast the next morning was just as frustrating. My boyfriend couldn't make himself understood when asking for breakfast. I arrived with 15 minutes left and was aggressively told I had to leave exactly when breakfast ended. The staff member didn't seem to understand either German or English. When breakfast was over, she shouted at all the guests to leave.

The rooms are clean, but they get very hot. This place may not suit religious people: there are slabs very close by that seem to be for sale, and there's a cemetery farther away. The booking said there was a lake nearby, but there isn't one. There is a river about a kilometer away, along the border with Switzerland.

The rooms were awful. There was no fan or air conditioning, and it was so hot we couldn't sleep all night. Breakfast was unlike anything I've seen: everything ran out, and staff kept saying more would be there in a few minutes. We waited an hour and nothing came, then the staff disappeared. They can do that because it's a self-check-in hotel. I don't recommend it and won't stay here again.

There was no receptionist, and we got into the clean room and its balcony using a PIN code. The building also has a classy restaurant. Breakfast was basic but fresh; in summer, I would have expected more fruit and vegetables.

The hotel feels overpriced for the service. There was no air conditioning or fan in the room, and the shower valves were extremely stiff. Breakfast was good, and the staff were nice and friendly, though they don't speak English. There's a garage for bicycles.
