Room 1 was right beside reception and the entrance, so during a fully booked weekend for a motorcycle show it felt like sleeping in the lobby. The bathroom also takes some maneuvering and probably wouldn’t work well for someone with a larger build. In the morning, the smell of frying bacon woke me up. It was like being in the kitchen.

The staff were all very friendly, and the rooms have been renovated and are comfortable. They’re nearly perfect, though I missed having air conditioning during the hot weather. Food is a real highlight. There’s a generous salad buffet, a tasty hot or cold soup to start, then ice cream, pudding, and cake. Breakfast and dinner are buffet-style, with a hot evening meal and a vegetarian choice always available. The menu has plenty of variety and uses lots of fresh ingredients. If you care about good food, this guesthouse is a very good choice.

The staff and owner were consistently polite and accommodating, and my room was cleaned each day. Room 1 had a modern, practical setup with a single bed, TV, several wardrobes, and a desk. There was also a free safe, plus a minibar with plenty of different drinks, though the prices were high as they often are in hotels. The bathroom was reached from the room and had a shower, sink, toilet, hairdryer, a small soap bar, and two shampoo sachets. I stayed for a Wellness Activity Week with full board. Breakfast had a generous buffet, and dinner included free tea. The hot meal was usually one of three options prepared the day before. The food was good, though I would have liked cold drinks included with lunch and dinner. The dining room and hotel feel a little dated, but that didn’t bother me much. The hotel parking cost €20 for the week.

Back after four years, I was a bit disappointed 🙁. At dinner there’s now a choice of one hot meal or a cold buffet, basically a regular dinner. The dining room still has the same decor and chairs it had 15 years ago. It’s clean, but a fresh coat of paint and getting rid of the ancient carpeting would help. I know COVID caused huge losses. My room was nice apart from the old windows and cracked balcony door. The flooring was great, maybe click vinyl, and the bathroom was nice. There was a minibar, but the Wi-Fi kept cutting out. I’ve stayed many times because it’s a wonderful, family-friendly hotel. Thanks to the Kobusch family, Antonia, and my colleague. The food used to be great, and everything felt right here.
