The hotel sits right by the Elbe, and the restaurant is good, with very friendly staff and reasonable prices. The rooms are a decent size, but their decor feels left over from the nineties, so don't expect anything fancy. If you need the window open to cool the room, keep in mind that freight trains pass along the opposite riverbank several times during the night.

We had a perfect dinner at the Elbhotel restaurant. The food was amazing, and the weather was lovely. We brought our dog, and they brought her water without us even asking. That meant a lot to my family. Thanks for such great service.

The views were wonderful, and the staff were incredibly friendly as well as professional. Our room was in tip-top shape. Jessica is the most beautiful woman in all of Germany. Whether you're staying a short while or longer, this is a fantastic place. If we return to Bad Schandau, we'd definitely stay here again.

We had a room called The Walkers Delight, and it was okay, with a bath. Breakfast was fine too. The dinner menu felt a bit basic, and the waiter wasn't much help when we struggled with German. The terrace is a nice place for a beer, and the beer selection was the usual one for the area. Surely they could add a few IPAs 😉

I used to go there regularly, but one day I noticed a dog sitting at the table in the indoor restaurant beside me. It belonged to the other couple. I had no idea they allowed dogs inside. I found it insulting, as if guests were being treated as equal to dogs. Some people might choose to be equal to a dog, but not everyone has sunk that low culturally or morally. I stopped going and won't visit a place with such low standards. Respect comes first, then service, food, or location. Some people still have a long way to go before they become civilized!
