Steinle Kneipp-Kurhotel

The gym was a highlight for me, with treadmills, elliptical trainers, upright and recumbent bikes, a rowing machine, weights, and back and leg equipment I hadn’t seen before. There were stretch mats and a tap for fresh mineral water from a deep underground well, too. There’s plenty for health and relaxation without leaving the hotel, from short therapeutic rinses and mud wraps to massages and water gymnastics. The treatments, pool and jacuzzi are all on site. Rooms have the essentials, including a safe, mini fridge, TV, WiFi, balcony and modern bathroom. Meals were a real treat. Breakfast had a big choice of meats, cheeses, grains, breads, fresh fruit and fancy coffee. At dinner, you choose from the daily menu card, with dishes cooked to order as part of a five or six course meal. I’ve had great schnitzel, tender salmon, good vegetarian options, plus the salad buffet and desserts. The dining room is pleasantly lit. It’s a medium sized hotel, but comfortable and luxurious, with a lot to offer.

Our flight delay meant we arrived late, but the owner waited patiently and gave us a warm welcome. We were shown to our clean, lovely room and had the appliances explained. They even had UK-Germany adaptors for us, since we’d forgotten ours. There are plenty of breakfast choices at the buffet, and the hotel has a gym, pool, spa and salon for relaxing. For quality and service, this is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Thanks to the management for the experience. We’d definitely recommend it.

The room problems were bad enough: it wasn’t cleaned, and the toilet leaked. We told the staff, but it still wasn’t fixed. The reception and restaurant ladies were polite, and I want to acknowledge that. What overshadowed everything was the way Mr. Steinle handled our electric car charging. There was a problem with the hotel wall-box, and he fiddled with our car’s charging cable without asking. The car later had to be towed by the ADAC. He was very impolite, denied any wrongdoing and wouldn’t help. While we were stuck at the hotel arranging how to get home, he even wanted to charge us extra. It’s a shame to run into that kind of behavior when you’re trying to enjoy time off.

A very relaxing place, with an indoor pool, sauna, fitness area and play area.
