The room had a basic spring mattress on a bed frame, and it was far from comfortable. It was 9 degrees outside, but the bedroom heater stayed cold; only the bathroom heater worked. For €75 without breakfast I wasn’t expecting luxury, but this house was a huge disappointment and I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m surprised by the very good reviews, since I just can’t understand them. It took four phone attempts to reach the hotel and arrange late check-in. They said it wouldn’t be a problem. I arrived shortly before 7:30 p.m. to find the building completely dark. Using my phone flashlight, I eventually found the doorbell. After I rang several times, a woman opened a door, stuck her head out briefly and pointed me to an envelope by a side door, also in the dark. I compared the booking.com description with the room. It was nowhere near 18 square meters. Even being generous, I’d put it at just under 10, and the rest of the description didn’t match either. The furniture and decor looked like they belonged in the late 1970s. There was no tiled floor, kettle, bathrobe, bathtub or bidet, and no sitting area with a sofa or desk. The only setup was a simple chair in front of a windowsill over a radiator. There was no radio or CD player either. The bathroom had brown 70s-style tiles and a shower with a step-in of about 30 cm, which is absolutely unacceptable for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. ☹️ I don’t need a CD player or bidet, but the description should at least match reality.

There’s plenty to choose from at the breakfast buffet, and the service staff are friendly. The hotel is charming, with very good beds, a spot to work on a laptop, and a comfortable armchair for relaxing. Everything was very clean. Happy to come back! 👍

A good quiet hotel for a longer stay or a trip around the Ammerland region. It’s only a few minutes from the A28 motorway, the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and breakfast is good.
