We slept really well in our renovated room, with its big double bed and large shower. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was simple but enough for us. The hotel is right across from a train station and is a great base for an event at the cave of Balve.

The food was really good and well seasoned, and they even gave us a shooter at the end. What stood out most was the young woman serving us, she was enthusiastic and looked after us so well. We had a great time, thanks again 😄

We only came for dinner and stayed somewhere else. The menu looked fine, though it was a shame they didn't have spare ribs. The first person who served us seemed unable to read the menu without glasses. Since our German isn't great, we tried speaking English and pointing to what we wanted, but she showed clear impatience and annoyance, perhaps because we couldn't speak German. It was an unfortunate start and really put a damper on the beginning of our evening. After that, things went decently. The food I had was good, and I have no complaints about it. Two guys, one of whom spoke English, helped us with the rest and gave us a very good impression. They seemed like good guys. The location is a little awkward because of the road out front, but we sat inside, so I can't really comment on the effect.
