The front desk lady was really nice and helpful, and the service was good. The room itself was just okay, though. The floor felt sticky and had a couple of stains, and it looked like it hadn’t been mopped after the previous guest. There was a stain on the bedsheet too. I hope this was an isolated case, but the cleaning staff need to do a better job making sure rooms are clean.

We had a delightful Sunday night at the Marriott in Magdeburg. I don’t usually review one-night stays, but the helpful staff, spotless rooms, and great breakfast made this one stand out. There was plenty of parking, and getting to the highway was easy. I’d highly recommend it to travellers.

This was a short stop while I was passing through the region, and the Magdeburg Courtyard Hotel was clean, efficient, and functional, just what I needed. It’s a reliable, no-frills place for a night or two, though I wouldn’t call it a destination hotel. The room and bathroom were spotless. Housekeeping did a meticulous job each day, replaced the towels as needed, and the room felt refreshed when I came back. The firm, supportive mattress suited me, and I appreciated having a good-quality iron and ironing board after a day on the road. The staff were courteous, and check-in and check-out went smoothly and professionally. The hotel has the standard amenities you’d expect, enough for a comfortable stay but nothing luxurious. My one noticeable issue was the temperature control. I tried the thermostat, but the room temperature stayed fixed. I suspect the thermostat may have had a technical problem. It wasn’t unbearable, just noticeable.
