The food was delicious, the courtyard felt cozy at Christmas, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The dining room, though, got cramped and loud with so many people. What has left us angry this time is the bill. We had booked the dinner buffet last week for ourselves and our three-year-old, who couldn't come after all. We weren't able to cancel him in time, two days ahead, and were still charged €12 of the €24 price. Charging for a toddler who wasn't there feels extremely unfriendly to customers. We also can't make sense of the usual prices for very young children. €24 for a three-year-old when adults pay €37 seems completely unreasonable. At that age, a child might eat a small snack, maybe a potato, not a buffet nearly costing as much as an adult's meal. We ran into the same issue at the asparagus buffet in summer. We paid €8.50 for our son even though he only ate half a mashed potato, and we were charged for sick people who couldn't attend that dinner either. We seriously wonder whether this policy is legal. We were already irritated then, but now we're genuinely disappointed and angry. We'd hoped for more flexibility and prices that are fair and suited to toddlers. A buffet does carry some risk for a restaurant since quantities have to be estimated, but a few absences surely can't have as much effect as this policy suggests, especially when one of the people missing is three.

The horse paddocks made for a lovely view, and the family was very welcoming. The surroundings are beautiful, and the price felt excellent for what we got. We stayed in a studio apartment and had a great weekend. It was spotless, with thoughtful little touches. There was a small kitchen with seating and everything we needed, plus a separate hallway and living room. The bathroom was perfectly fine for us, though a bit dated. The beds were comfortable, but set apart, which I personally didn't like. The Dutch style stairs up to the second floor may not suit everyone, but they worked for us. It's in a quiet spot without being too far out, and there's plenty of parking. Next time, we'll stay longer!

The Sunday breakfast was delicious, with plenty to choose from for everyone. The staff were attentive and very friendly. I'd definitely recommend it.
