We felt so welcome here, and the owner and staff were genuinely friendly. Our apartment had a window at the back overlooking the stream, and leaving it open to hear the soft water was wonderfully calming. The lovingly renovated building is full of tasteful touches, with a lovely outdoor area, swimming pond, and plenty of spots to sit or stretch out. Breakfast was fantastic, too, with a big range of cold cuts, cheeses, muesli, jams, egg dishes, fruit, tea, and coffee. We treated ourselves to it even though we were staying in an apartment. There are great hikes nearby, and the Rhön is beautiful. We’ve rarely felt this comfortable, and would absolutely recommend it.

The house tour was a highlight. The owner told fascinating anecdotes about the building’s history, adding a personal touch to our stay. We Wanderhühner (Travel Chickens), ten friends who get together for a weekend each year, were lucky to end up at the old provost's house in Wechterswinkel, in the heart of the Rhön Mountains. Its thoughtful conversion into a stylish inn made the weekend feel special. Our hosts were open, kind, and helpful, and gave us useful tips in advance that made the visit easier and more enjoyable. The rooms are all individually and tastefully furnished, and you can see the care the owners have put into the place. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and lovingly prepared, with plenty of good things to start the day. It was a delight for all the senses, and we highly recommend staying here. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

We spent three days at the Propstei and would happily book again. The breakfast buffet was generously stocked with regional products, and the rooms are beautifully furnished. The whole building has been restored with taste, with careful little details visible throughout. It’s such a peaceful place. We wholeheartedly recommend it. Keep up the great work! 👍🏻

We had a wonderful stay, and the warm, attentive hospitality from our hostess, Mrs. Müller, made a real difference. Breakfast had an incredible range of fresh, regional, and organic products, and was hard to beat. The cobbled courtyard, historic building, and cozy holiday apartment all have an irresistible charm, with antique furniture and decor working beautifully alongside modern amenities. Little details, like fresh flowers in the room and an easy self-service bar for drinks and snacks, add to the sense that this is a special place run with care. The restaurant and excursion recommendations were excellent, too. Thank you so much!
