We were back to visit my old post and some friends, and needed a dog-friendly place. They gave us a big, comfortable room that was incredibly clean, with a microwave, refrigerator, sofa, lots of seating, and big bright windows. Arriving over Easter weekend was easy too, since the key box instructions were clear and we could go straight to our room. The staff were incredible from the start. At breakfast I met Angela, who welcomed us, took my payment, and was the sweetest, most helpful person. Our dog is almost 16 and took a tumble, which made her nervous about the stairs. We changed our plans for Trier and went to the Idar Oberstein Vet instead. The hotel quickly helped us move to a ground-floor room, making things much easier. Huge thanks to Annette for arranging that. We'll stay by Zum Stern again when we return, no question. Thank you Annette and Angela for everything!

I stayed for about a week in March 2025. It's a simple room with a refrigerator, and the bathroom was nice and clean. I didn't catch the name of the woman who helped me check out, but she was very kind and nice. I'd stay again.

The food was delicious, the prices reasonable, and the staff friendly at this cute little restaurant near the base. I liked the table setting too, it's quite different if you're coming from another culture. We had the four-piece baguette and onion soup in the pictures, and that soup was to die for. The food took a little while, but we were a large group and they cook it fresh, which is a plus. The wait was worth it, and I'll definitely be back.
