ibis Styles Bayreuth

Breakfast was very good, with fresh food, local bread, and scrambled eggs among the best I've had at a hotel. The bar at reception had a wide choice of snacks and drinks at good prices, and the staff were really helpful and nice. Our room was quite small, but clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. We paid 160 eur with breakfast, a bit pricey. We chose the hotel for its closeness to the express road and car chargers, but all five chargers were occupied by gasoline cars. The spots need clearer signs saying they're reserved for electric cars.

The simple rooms were comfortable, and even facing the tracks, we could barely notice any noise with the windows shut. The breakfast selection was extensive, though it never changed. After the performance, there was a big gathering in the lobby/bar area. The hotel is a short walk from the train station and an easy walk to Bayreuth Festival Theater.

The little touches for families were lovely: our extra child's bed was already made, and there was a small play-corner and child friendly decor. The hotel felt welcoming with small kids without feeling like a petting zoo. Breakfast was varied and delicious, and the check-in staff were friendly and attentive. Our two connecting rooms had a door between them, just as requested, and were clean and modern, as I've come to expect from the Ibis Styles franchise. The location by the train station was great, and the city center was a short walk away. We worried about train noise in rooms facing the tracks, but couldn't hear anything. A great stay, and I'd book again if I'm back in Bayreuth.

An emergency meant I had to book at the last minute, and the staff were flexible about accommodating me. I'm very grateful.
