Hotel Alpenhof

Our kids had a great time at Hotel Alpenhof near Tegernsee. The indoor playground and heated pool kept them happy, even on rainy days, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel at home. The atmosphere is welcoming and the hotel is thoughtfully set up for families. Breakfast and dinner offered a nice range of very good food. When the hotel is full, buffet refills can take a little while, but the food’s taste and quality make up for it. We’d definitely come back for the comfort, family fun, and Bavarian charm.

The rooms and public spaces were very clean and well stocked, and the food and drinks were very good. Service in the dining room was slow and the bar wasn’t properly attended because of staffing issues. The hotel sits in a superb spot for reaching lakes and mountains. It’s fairly remote, which makes it peaceful, but there isn’t much nightlife.

We chose this hotel to fit in with our MTB tour, and it turned out to be a lovely place to stay. Mountains and beautiful nature surround it, and there’s a garden out back where you can enjoy the view. After a tiring day of travel, the sauna and large swimming pool were great for relaxing. Dinner was delicious, including the menu and desserts. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable, and the complimentary “goodnight's” pillow menu was an extra touch meant to support healthy sleep during the stay. There’s also a secure, lockable place to store bikes.

We felt welcomed right away. Our hostess made an extra effort to create a warm atmosphere, and the clean lobby and stylish touches around the resort added to it. The room was clean, updated, and had spectacular views. Breakfast was stellar and included in the all-inclusive stay. After visits to many hotel-casino resorts in Las Vegas, I was pleasantly surprised to find this 5-star +++ hotel and spa in Bavaria. The spa has a heated pool, wet and dry saunas, and cave-like showers, all with great mountain views. I noticed cribs for infants, even though we weren’t traveling with any. The downstairs playroom is fun for all ages, with a jungle gym, air hockey, basketball, sub-soccer footsie game, two foosball tables, ping-pong, and plenty of loungy bean bags. The outdoor green spaces are well kept and inviting. The resort is conveniently located, and I felt like I’d found a little slice of Las Vegas luxury and hospitality here. I’d definitely stay again. 😊 Enjoy!!
