Hotel Königslinde

The owner was considerate and very helpful, and speaks excellent English. The train station is also very handy.

It’s useful to know that Königslinde runs as a self-service hotel, with no reception. Check-in is through a key box, and the code and guest card arrive by email. The rooms are standard but clean and quiet, with comfortable beds and hot showers. Some are bigger than others, and some have balconies. The location in the middle of town is ideal, and there’s private parking behind the building. The phone support is friendly and helpful, though keep in mind they take a long lunch break from 11 am to 2 pm. Breakfast is the main time you’ll see staff, and it’s excellent: great coffee, plenty of choice, and fresh pastries from the bakery across the street. The lady at the buffet is very friendly and helpful. We did miss having a sauna. The price is reasonable, and we’d gladly come back.

We only stayed one night and were very satisfied. The breakfast buffet is modest, but very good and completely adequate. Our room had a good amount of space, with an anteroom, bedroom, and a very small but functional bathroom. The mattresses were good and we slept well. The bathroom was quite cold, so a towel warmer or some other heating would be a nice improvement. The price for what you get is definitely right.

Everything was arranged ahead of time through a lockbox, so we had no personal contact at all. There was no greeting and no farewell, and there’s no reception. The B&B is very clean, well located, and has a great breakfast. Rooms are adequate, with very small but private bathrooms.
