The owners clearly know how to look after guests. Everything felt excellent, from the welcome and room to the food, which was delicious and completely homemade. Even someone from the kitchen came out to ask if we were happy with our order. Such a good experience. *****

I’ve had dinner here about three times and each visit was a good experience. There’s plenty of seating, and they serve a range of food and drinks. The owner even asked what I wanted and offered to try making a dish to my taste, which worked out well. I’d recommend giving the restaurant a visit.

The room was the main drawback for me. Mine was 211, on the top floor against the sunny wall, and it got extremely hot at the end of June. Even with the windows open, the fan didn’t make it comfortable. One window could be reached from the outside stairs, too. The nights were cooler, so I eventually slept after midnight with the fan in the window and all the windows open. I got a few moths as an unwelcome gift one night, but luckily no mosquitoes, just one long-legged bug. The staff were lovely, the restaurant food was good, and the newly renovated bathroom was really nice. The building has a cozy alpine hut feel, with old roof wood used for beds and tables. There’s one socket by the bed, two at the desk and one by the entrance, plus two sets of windows with thin and thick curtains. The beds are very hard but sleepable. The pillow is tiny and goes flat, so I used the big decorative pillow without a cover underneath it. I’m used to heat from traveling in Asia, including Thailand, but I still don’t understand why there’s no air conditioning, even a portable unit. If you need a cool room to sleep, this probably isn’t the place. Air conditioning would easily bring my rating up to four. A fun touch: you can swap room cleaning for a free beer, which saves resources and gets you a beer.

The rooms are on the small side and newly renovated, but clean and quiet, which are their best points. The restaurant is pretty good and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly.
