After our hiking days, we loved relaxing on the balcony and taking in the mountain view and clean air. The upstairs apartment was cozy and comfortable, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen. It sits on the edge of Berchtesgaden, but the city center is only a 10 to 15 minute walk away. There we found a delightful bakery, a good grocery store, shops, and nice restaurants. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and live downstairs. We enjoyed our week here and definitely recommend Gästehaus Kurz.

The apartment has everything we need for a relaxing break, and you can tell the details have been thoughtfully chosen. The host family are warm and welcoming, so we feel at home as soon as we arrive. We’ve been coming back for years, and this peaceful place has become part of our New Year’s tradition. It’s a lovely base for our favorite hikes to Königssee, Bad Reichenhall, and Hintersee. We always enjoy returning and would recommend it to anyone looking for nature, quiet, and genuine hospitality.

The view is stunning, and the Kurz family were really friendly. The apartment, though, wasn’t in great condition and unfortunately wasn’t very clean. That doesn’t seem to be the case every time, judging by the excellent reviews from other guests. Bavaria is lovely, and the family’s warmth helped make up for the problems, but I can only give it 3 stars.

Such a beautiful view, and the place feels quiet and idyllic. The landlords are very warm and friendly. We’d happily recommend staying here.
