A simple, low-cost place if you just need somewhere to sleep. The rooms are basic, with shared showers and toilets, but everything was clean and pleasant. The house was extended in 1935 to accommodate Hitlerjugend, and you can see the eagles nest from here. Quite a few Czech people stay here since the owner is Czech, and it’s popular with bikers too.

Veronika was very friendly and served us a good breakfast every morning. We stayed three nights in the clean, spacious Goldregen room, my husband, son, and I. There are toys in the breakfast room and a small playground in the yard, so it works well for families as well as couples. It’s a lovely place in a calm little village, with beautiful mountain and meadow views. A good base for hiking and visiting Eagle’s nest, Königsee, Berchtesgaden, and other places in Bayern. I’d definitely come back!

The room was damp, moldy, and musty, right beside the cowshed. Breakfast was the cheapest sort from a discount store, and the parking spaces in front of the house were too small even for an average family station wagon. This one-star accommodation is right at the B319 intersection. I don’t know where the four-star rating comes from. They only accept cash, nothing else. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend staying here. At best, it could serve as emergency accommodation while passing through.

The yard cats were such a cute touch 🐈. We felt at ease here, with a peaceful setting and a great location.
