The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms and bathroom were very clean. We slept comfortably, the bunk beds didn’t creak when someone moved, and the furniture felt solid. It was quiet in both the room and the neighborhood, with the subway only a five-minute walk away. We didn’t like the view from the balconies, which looked onto a huge apartment block instead of green trees. It was very ugly, though the block did have a supermarket, pharmacy, playground, and high-standard Italian restaurant.

The hotel itself was very nice, and the breakfast was 10/10. For a longer stay, though, we really wanted a fridge. We also had two injuries while there. There was an unsecured sharp piece of metal on the balcony, and you can guess what happened. The shower was extremely slippery; I fell, got a muscle injury, and even went to the hospital for it. The experience was okay, nothing more.

Our room had water damage, so while we were out for the day, staff moved our belongings into a larger room and offered compensation. The hotel was clean, the rooms were fine, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast had a wide selection and everything was in good order. Pichelsberg S-Bahn station is a seven-minute walk away, making it easy to reach the city centre. Keep in mind that breakfast and parking cost extra, so the final bill can be quite a bit higher than the hotel’s low listed price if you use them.

The neighborhood is calm, and the train nearby takes you to all the main tourist spots. It’s a great budget-friendly base for exploring Berlin. Breakfast isn’t outstanding, but it has what you need whether you prefer sweet or savory food.

Getting around was easy: the hotel is close to Pichelsberg station, where the S3 goes straight into the city past its sights. The ride to the centre takes about 30 minutes, give or take. Havel, Olympiastadion, and Waldbüne are all within walking distance, and Rewe, several restaurants, and a pharmacy are nearby. There’s plenty of parking around the hotel, and the area is pleasant and quiet. A few years ago, we stayed in a simple, comfortable, clean room with a big balcony. There was no fridge, which could be a downside for some. Breakfast was fine.
