Ark am Hauptbahnhof

The location is a real plus. There's a Penny supermarket directly across the street, the central Berlin station is about a 10-minute walk away, and buses and trams are nearby. The Reichstag, Bellevue Palace, the victory column, and the Bradenburg Gate are also fairly close. For the price, though, I can't complain too much. We expected a small apartment with three separate rooms, including a bathroom and a small kitchen, but everything was in one room. The room was dirty, with stained walls, worn furniture, cracks in the ceiling, and a creaky wood floor. You could see mold stains on the mattress through the sheets. The shower head was rusty and calcified, and the dishware was especially dirty and stained. The kitchen had no ventilation, so cooking left the room smelling of food day and night. We booked for two, but there was only one fork. The desk lady was rude. When we asked where to get dinner nearby, she just nodded as if she didn't want to be bothered. When we asked for toilet paper, she complained that we should wait for room service. Also, the hotel is actually called Hotel central Inn, and looks nothing like the pictures. A nice, modern makeover could make this place great: replace some furniture, repaint the walls, fix the floor, and improve the cleanliness.
