Hotel Amadeus Am Kurfürstendamm

I won't return after two nights at this Sybelstraße property. The room smelled persistently unpleasant, like feces and bodily fluids, and seemed not to have been deep-cleaned or aired out. I didn't complain at the time because the stay was short, which I regret. After checkout they tried to charge me an extra "deep cleaning fee" for regular waste and some traces of healing clay, a natural health product. To me, taking out ordinary trash and wiping up water-soluble clay are standard housekeeping. It felt like an attempt to get extra money from guests. The building also felt very unsafe. There was obvious activity related to the red-light district and sex work on the premises. Seeing that, along with associated "security" or third parties in the hallways, made me extremely uncomfortable and concerned for my safety. Between the room odor, the questionable crowd, and the cleaning bill I consider unjustified, I can't recommend it. Travelers who want a clean and secure environment should look elsewhere.

Don't book this hotel for a holiday. When lots of people use the bathroom hot water at the same time, the system can't keep up. You get hot water for five minutes, then cold for 20 minutes. Waiting around can waste so much time that a shower takes up to two hours.

I've stayed at Limehome on different floors since January and had good experiences before. But moving to a rooftop room this month has been really disappointing. I paid almost €2,400, yet when I raised these problems, nobody offered a solution. They told me I'd have to pay extra to switch rooms. The rooftop area feels unsafe. At night people walk behind the balcony and smoke, and the marijuana smell is very strong. I can't leave the balcony door open, and the air-conditioning isn't working properly. Customer satisfaction doesn't seem to be a priority. Be careful when booking rooftop rooms.

The check-in and checkout were smooth and easy, and the underground parking was really cheap compared with everything else I saw in Berlin. The room was high quality, extremely clean, tidy, and tasteful. You can tell they pay attention to the details, and the cleanliness especially made the experience better.
