The Sunday afternoon atmosphere was so peaceful. With plants around, natural light coming in, quiet music playing, and chillies, garlic and other traditional foods hanging on the walls, it was easy to relax and just enjoy being there. I’m English, and I’d have struggled to understand the menu without my Hungarian friends. It’s a Hungarian restaurant in Germany, so I’m not complaining, but English options are always nice to see. This was my first taste of Hungarian food, and it was delicious. I had tender deer with white sauce and a bread or gnocchi side included with the meal. My girlfriend’s duck fell right off the bone, and I sampled it, thinking I’d order that next time. Then I saw what my friends had: pork and a mixed ham skewer served over potatoes. There are loads of sides to choose from with the meat, including potatoes, croquettes, bread and gnocchi. A great spot for food lovers. I’ll be back next month.

The Hungarian restaurant connected to the hotel is the real highlight for me. The choice of Hungarian dishes is huge and the food quality is excellent. They also have good draft beer, Hungarian Kräuterschnaps, and a solid range of European wines. The hotel itself is pretty clean and out in the Berlin suburbs. I’d give it four stars, and the restaurant five. I’ll come back whenever I’m in Berlin.

The portions were generous, the service was really good, and everything we tried tasted delicious: újvári tyúkhúsleves, fokhagymakrém leves, harcsapaprikás túróscsuszával, csirkapaprikás nokedlivel, and somlói galuska. It isn’t cheap, but it isn’t expensive either, and the quality for the price was very good. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to try authentic Hungarian food, and not necessarily "gulasch".

The staff were nice and there’s free private parking, which was great. The hotel Wi-Fi can be unreliable, sometimes a device doesn’t get an IP address. A few of the rooms are on the small side, but otherwise it was great.

The garden and cozy interior make it a really pleasant place. The food is delicious Hungarian cooking, and the staff are friendly and polite.
