Hotel Indigo Berlin – Alexanderplatz

It’s a quiet place to sleep, and the staff were friendly and well organized. Breakfast was nice, with quite a few choices. The rooms are on the small side but have what you need, though ours felt a bit neglected and could use renovation soon. The hotel is close to the heart of Berlin but sits at the edge of one of the calmest and safest neighborhoods, away from the noise. There’s a bus and tram right outside, and Alexanderplatz is a 10-minute walk away.

We asked to have the room cleaned and came back to find it tidy, with our teddys sitting neatly on the bed. It’s those little touches that made us happy. The staff were attentive and polite, and service was efficient. We had a great stay in a convenient location.

The noise outside didn’t bother my sleep at all, even though I’d read about it in reviews beforehand. Our room faced the tv tower, and the windows seemed to block the sound well. We opened one twice for fresh air, which let more noise in, but we still slept fine. We had a premier plus room with a useful fridge, a comfortable bed, and a decent-sized bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy. The location was good for trains and exploring. Staff were nice and easy to reach, and there was a safe, locked room for storing luggage. Would recommend.

The room was very spacious and warm, with two balconies, but check the balcony floor before stepping out. My husband ended up on his backside. The transport links were great, especially from the airport, and our premier plus room had lovely views. Breakfast was worth it, with loads to choose from, and we’d definitely eat there before heading out. Drinks at the bar are expensive unless it’s happy hour. The bedding was the problem. The sheets were stained and dirty, and when I reported it, the receptionist just said okay, with no apology. They changed them, but the new sheets, including the fitted sheet, were still dirty. My husband and I also had thin separate quilts. Only two lifts, and one was broken the whole time. I would’ve given four stars if the bedding had been clean.
