Everything was clean, and the staff were friendly. The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom. The S-Bahn station is just a minute’s walk away, yet the place is quiet. Highly recommended.

I regret booking a room at hotel-pension Dorma. Cleanliness gets 3 out of 5, except for the shower cabin, as you can see in my photos. For sleep comfort, I’d give it 1 out of 5. The mattress was either too old or too soft, and it felt like sleeping in a bathtub. The only way to sleep was on my back. I also found two things in the bathroom that seemed dangerous. There was a cable duct above the shower cabin, which I suppose contained the bathroom ventilator’s power cable. I’m not sure about German electrical regulations, but I think this should be forbidden. And the shower cabin was at least 40 cm above the bathroom floor, making it difficult and dangerous to climb in and out without a support handle. For me, cleanliness and a comfortable night’s sleep are the top things to expect from a hotel or pension.

It was a nice change to stay outside the tourist areas. The room was quaint and had enough space to sleep, though dealing with so many keys was a bit of a hassle. The owner was very nice, greeted us now and then, and helped us out. There was great coffee and good sandwiches for breakfast nearby.
