Motel One Berlin-Potsdamer Platz

The reception was friendly, and the room had a nice design, but the space was very small and basic for the price. There was no safe, fridge, kettle, or bin in the room. The bathroom had only soap, with no moisturizer or other extras, and there weren't any other amenities either. It was very expensive for what you get.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the hotel is central to everything. Rooms are small, but they have what you need for sleeping and showering. The bed was a 9 out of 10, comfortable, though I'm not keen on two single beds pushed together. I'd recommend it for a two- or three-night stay.

For a short stay or a solo trip, this is a practical, budget-friendly base in a central spot. Potsdamer Platz is a short walk away, and you can get around easily on foot or by public transport. The Berlin Mall is right next door for shopping, food at the court, or picking up essentials. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, but the rooms feel tight, especially with large luggage or over several days. There's no closet, just the provided hangers, so pack light or bring organizers. Higher-floor rooms may have a balcony overlooking the terrace park, which is a nice extra. Most bookings don't include breakfast, so plan to eat out or find something nearby or at the restaurant. The low rate may look appealing, but the compact space isn't for anyone wanting room to move. Good value if location and a short visit matter most.

We stayed two nights for a business and couples trip. The location was great, the accommodation decent, and breakfast was nice. As we were leaving at the end of the second day, we asked for a glass of water while waiting for our Uber. There were glass cups available, but Reid at the front desk said he couldn't give us one because we weren't members. His customer service was poor, and I felt sorry for him because it seemed nobody had taught him good hospitality. We tried giving him some customer service tips, but he argued with us. We left smiling and gave him a thumbs up. Come on, Reid, do better!
