Provocateur, Berlin, a part of Sircle Collection

The à la carte breakfast was nice, and our room on the second floor was lovely. But the music from the bar was very loud, and we could hear everything. We were awake, so it wasn’t a problem for us, but anyone hoping for a good night’s sleep should mention it when booking so they can be placed as far away as possible. Or stay somewhere else. I’d booked Provocateur for our wedding anniversary, and things were mostly okay until I found out the restaurant was closed. We had to find somewhere to eat at the last minute, which wasn’t the plan: we’d just wanted a couple of drinks and a snack before heading upstairs. I was a bit upset that this wasn’t easier to find out beforehand. The menu was still on their website, and we’d been looking forward to trying some of the dishes. It was a bummer, and if I’d known, I would have booked somewhere else.

A lovely little boutique hotel in a quiet location. The decor is tasteful, and there’s a great breakfast spread and good coffee. I’d suggest it for a romantic escape.

The restaurant was especially cozy, and breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented, and served by attentive, friendly staff. I also liked the small garden courtyard, a lovely atmospheric place to sit with coffee. The hotel is about a 2-minute walk from the metro and conveniently located around 6 km from the city center. My first impression of the hotel was pleasant and atmospheric, and overall I left with a good impression. But the room had a persistent cigarette smell, which was why I asked to change rooms. I was surprised the staff didn’t seem to understand that the smell can linger for days. The receptionist’s reaction to my request felt strange and unwelcoming, though they did change the room in the end, which I appreciated. Cleanliness could be better: there was a lot of dust, the mirrors weren’t fully clean, and the blanket was just wrapped between two sheets instead of being in a duvet cover. That took away from the feeling of hospitality.

I was very disappointed with this stay. At the end of 2025 I booked the deluxe suite, whose main feature was supposed to be a free-standing bath tub. Instead, I was given a different room that didn’t resemble the one I’d booked. It was much smaller, lacked some of the furniture shown on the website, and had no bath tub. Neither the receptionist nor the email exchange afterwards showed any understanding or willingness to admit they’d done anything wrong. I paid for an overpriced room I hadn’t booked.
