wombat's CITY HOSTEL - Berlin

It was my first hostel trip, back in 2017, and I had a wonderful few nights here. The rooftop bar has amazing views, and the cafe connected to the lobby is even better. Front desk staff are there around the clock, and the daily cleaning keeps the whole place pleasant. I never had trouble with noisy or rowdy guests.

The rooftop bar has a lovely big terrace with beautiful city views, and the prices were nice too, especially at happy hour. The only letdown for me was breakfast: it’s all you can eat, but the variety could be better. The staff were friendly and really helpful, and the location and the place itself are very nice. My room was clean, with sheets and a big towel provided, and the toilets were cleaned and the trash taken out daily. The mattress was a little old, but still comfortable enough. I’d definitely recommend it.

We’ll definitely stay here again. The vibe was great, the location was perfect, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The rooftop view alone is worth the price. My only suggestion is to have more beers on tap at the bar. Best hostel I’ve been to in quite a while.

I felt safer here than at any other hostel I’ve stayed in. We had a six-bed room with its own clean washroom and shower, and the bar and breakfast terrace are a great addition, with a lovely view across the city. The one issue was the bar’s loud music carrying into the room at night. With the windows shut it wasn’t a problem, but on a hot summer night, keeping them closed wasn’t really an option. Still, this is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at.
