Parking was included at the Mosel parking lot. It’s a bit of a walk, but that didn’t bother us. We were greeted very warmly, and the "Dorle" holiday apartment was spotless, with a lovely gallery and roof terrace. We’d happily stay there again.

Right on the market square, this is a really nice holiday apartment.

We spent a lot of time looking out at the activity in the market square when we weren’t wandering around the historic center. The apartment is in a lovingly restored half-timbered house in a prime spot, and it had everything we needed, with top-notch amenities. The landlords were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. There’s even a guestbook with a lot of history. A dream place to stay, highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay with friends, booking all three apartments in the holiday home: the Magda room, the Irmgard apartment, and the centerpiece, the Dorle apartment. Dorle is especially lovely in its layout and furnishings, and the kitchenware and other essentials are all there. The location is fantastic, right on the market square in the heart of Bernkastel-Kues. There were some frustrations around getting in touch with the owners before the trip. Emails took a long time to get a reply, apparently because the person responsible only works two days a week. We waited 14 days for answers to general questions that weren’t covered by the online information, then tried calling. We didn’t reach anyone at first, but did get a call back. Arrival and departure times are very inflexible and tied to the jeweler's opening hours. We only found this out a week before arrival, and wouldn’t have called otherwise. On Friday, we had to arrive by 6 pm, which was awkward for people working or travelling a long way and completely ruined our Friday plans. With key safes or PIN codes available these days, it’s hard to see why this is still necessary. Getting the car loaded and unloaded is also a bit tricky. The parking lot is a few meters away, and the bollards are only open for two hours in the morning, never during the day. Departure had to be by 10 am, even on a weekday. We were a few minutes late and got suspicious looks from the jeweler's door, arms crossed. Nobody asked if everything was okay or said goodbye. The Wi-Fi repeater in the dorm didn’t work, so the official Wi-Fi signal didn’t reach the bedroom and there was no cell phone reception or internet there. Even with those issues, we had a lovely stay. Thank you!
