My wife and I were cycling along the Danube and happened to stay at this lovely B+B, hosted by Sandra and Mario. Dinner was ready when we arrived, and breakfast the next morning was fabulous too, with homemade jams, yogurt, bread, eggs and excellent coffee. The owners are so friendly and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend it!

Our group of five needed a B&B when the weather turned bad on our bike packing trip from Amsterdam to Bucharest, Romania. Fortunately, we found The Crossing on Google and called the night before. Sandra was very accommodating. There was a garage for our loaded touring bikes, and our rooms were large, comfortable, nicely furnished, spotlessly clean, and had plenty of outlets for all our devices. The small kitchenette outside the room had tea and coffee. The dining and lounge area was really comfortable too, with a cozy fire and a great selection of beer, wine and other drinks at the bar. They even did our laundry, which we really appreciated with all our smelly, wet biking clothes. Dinner was excellent, and they made a vegetarian meal for me. Sandra & Mario were wonderful hosts. So happy we found The Crossing, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the area.

Dinner was excellent, and Sandra and Mario were wonderful to chat with. My private single room was clean and had a great view of the castle on the hillside. If you’re passing through this area, definitely stay here.

We were exhausted after riding 70+ km from Donaueschingen, so it was great to find helpful hosts, good rooms, and a place to store our bikes. The beds can be changed from a king to two singles in less than a minute, which I’d never seen before. They had some local seasonal beers in stock, and I had to try a couple. Yum. Breakfast was excellent. There’s no food nearby for dinner, so eat before you arrive or call 24 hours ahead and they can arrange something simple.

The whole place has a lovely atmosphere, from breakfast chats with the guests and owners to having a beer in the garden at sunset while the valley colors change. Sandra and Mario are the best hosts imaginable, experienced and clearly caring about what they do. I was on a new motorbike for its first day, and Mario kindly made space for it in his garage. You can get here by car, bike or train, and the charming old train station is just 100m away. There are no trains passing at night, so don’t worry. I’m already looking forward to going back. PS: let Mario recommend one of the seasonal beers he treasures there :D
