For a business retreat, Schloss Hasenwinkel has been excellent. Its remote setting may not suit a family trip, but the countryside is lovely, with open spaces and lakes for walking, talking, or unwinding, plus a fantastic night sky. The staff are welcoming and accommodating, and the mostly business focused crowd makes for a mature, drama free atmosphere. People seem to come to work and get through their stay smoothly. The rooms are great, though sizes vary from spacious to tiny, so ask at the front desk what you’ll be getting. The sauna facilities were out of order during our visit, but we did get to bowl and had a great time. It’s an excellent venue for conferences lasting several days.

The food was good, even if it wasn’t anything special. The place was tidy, the bathrooms and rooms very clean, and the service was nice. The gardens around it are especially beautiful. A really nice stay!
