Hotel Taormina

We stayed on the fourth floor. The lift only reaches the third, so you have to take the stairs for the last bit. Our balcony looked over the parking lot, which was handy for keeping an eye on the car. The lot is small, and we had to park on the street until a space opened up, but that was no problem. The room was clean, and the shower pressure was good. The staff were friendly, and the restaurant was nice. The food was good, especially the amazing lasagna. Breakfast downstairs by the main entrance was the usual European spread of small meats, cheeses, cereal, bread, coffee, and tea. Clean rooms and a nice atmosphere overall. 10/10.

It's a pity, because I'd wanted to visit for a long time, but I don't want to return. We arrived on a Saturday evening and sat at the nearest table. No one greeted us or came over for 15 minutes. After they moved us to another table, we waited another 30 minutes for a waiter, who only came after we waved persistently. Prices were moderate, but I wouldn't call it Italian food. The lasagna had a shank in it, which definitely wasn't what you'd expect, and my husband got a different dish from the one he ordered. The pizza was tasty. The €6 bruschetta was awful, just bread with tomatoes.

The pizzas and pastas cost about 6-10 euros, and we enjoyed our meals much more than expected. We ate here two nights in a row while staying at Hotel Taormina. The salads were great too. I'd especially recommend the hot salami pizza and the parma e regula pizza.

The service was good, but little else worked for me, so just two stars. The pizza tasted okay, though the ingredients seemed very cheap and tasted that way too.
