Kulturhof Stanggass

At check-in, we were handed two single beds pushed together even though we had booked a large double. When we raised the mismatch, the receptionist’s response was, “Either you stay or leave!” There was no apology or effort to sort it out. The booking information is misleading, and the customer service was appalling. I strongly advise against staying here.

Our suite was comfortable and well kept, and the magnificent view from the room made the two-night stay feel even more special. The staff worked hard and were attentive, which we appreciated. We had a wonderful time and would consider coming back.

From our family balcony we looked out over greenery and gorgeous mountains. It felt like being inside a painting. 😂 Kulturhof Stanggass is in a peaceful, scenic spot, with Berchtesgaden and nearby attractions still easy to reach. There was plenty of room for up to six people, and the large bathroom was clean, with the shower and toilet in separate areas. The natural wood made the room feel warm and calming. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast, with lots of fresh choices in a bright, open dining room. The front desk team were friendly and helpful the whole time, and the price seemed reasonable for the room, its quality, and the lovely setting. We loved staying here and would recommend it to families or anyone after a quiet retreat in the Bavarian Alps.

We usually don’t return to the same place, but I’d happily come back to this beautiful spot in summer or fall. The cabin worked perfectly for our family of four, and the playground was a hit with the kids. We were there at the end of March, so it wasn’t really patio weather, but I can picture having a beer in the garden with those mountains in view. The restaurant was a real plus. We had dinner there twice, and every meal was excellent. Breakfast was a huge, delicious spread. The staff were friendly and flexible too: they provided a diaper pail for our baby, coloring supplies for our six-year-old at each meal, and let us order some snacks to take back to the room for her. The rooms were lovely and clean. It’s a beautiful 10-15 minute walk into town, and Königsee, Jennerbahn, and the other nearby spots are an easy 15-minute drive away. I was sad to leave.
